Nothing's screaming cockerel to me yet. Yes it has very small pink wattles but the comb still looks small and pale. It's still young so I wouldn't give up hope yet!

Thanks! The comb is definitely flat and pullet-like so far. We’ll continue to monitor

That is definitely a nice option to have for sure. I’ve heard plenty of mean rooster horror stories over the years, so that is a good rule of thumb

Surprisingly, this is the first batch of chicks where we’ve had a good potential cockerel candidate, in addition to this one. It is a new experience for us, but being in the burbs, we can’t keep them in the long run.

Update at 4 weeks - comb and wattles do not appear to be developing any further. Starting to get copper coming through on the feathering. BCM or FBCM in the mix with this black slate legs? It came from a barnyard mix flock.
