I got in the 70's here today. (It was 16 last week). I've got chickie fever something awful!!! Friday I just happened by the feed store and I thought to myself ...self...even though you don't need anymore chickies...why don't you just swing in there and ask real quick when they will be getting baby chickies......THEY ARE GETTING THEM TOMORROW!!!! MONDAY!!!! but self....you really don't need any more chickies....well self...maybe just one or 2 will be ok....Note to self...be sure you leave work early so that you can get by there for 1 or 2 before they close.

i am only taking my little frizzle hen with me because shipping 38chickens is going to be a bit of a challenge. 1 is the limit for the plane and it will be $60 plus i need to find a carrying cage. also they dont allow poultry AT all UNLESS it is a show/pet chickens which lil' mama is!! so i am so happy she is coming with us! sad i have to sell all 37 others. ive cried like 10 times already!!

well when you move keep in touch with BYc, this breaks my heart...

Yup, as I type I have 3 dozen eggs on their way to me. And I just hatched at New Years, but they are all feathered in now, so they're not babies anymore, right?

I'm trying to figure out how long it would take my mom to notice if i put a brooder in the garage with a couple of chicks... she says no more chickens, but we only have two, and i'm sure we could easily have 4... I'm thinking I should call the feed store and ask if they have chicks, and what kinds... I could always tell my mom they were a valentine's day present!

Yes, yes I do. I just lean on the edge of the brooder for hours watching them do their thing

48 degrees in central MN yesterday. I built a snowman with my nephew in a T-shirt.....and was sweating.....it has been a very strange winter
