Ok, so my pullet started crowing this morning. I was told it was about 10 to 12 weeks old when I brought it home end of February, so I guess probably around 18-20 weeks conservatively.. anyway it started crowing this morning! I don't see any obvious signs of it being a rooster, but I guess I'm wondering if it's just an ugly rooster? Nicest chicken I have ever had 🤷‍♀️ anyway, check out these pictures and let me know if I have the daunting task of rehoming an ugly rooster

Rooster. The red feathers on the wings are the giveaway. Looks like it was a partridge/ lavender cross. If it was a hen the red would be dirty brown. You can compare a welsummer hen vs rooster to see what I mean. Also the long tail. And oh yeah, he crows too. Haha

I'm sorry but yes, that's definitely a little cockerel. I think he's adorable :love 😄
Thank you, he's really great and super sweet. My one year old can pick him up without a problem ❤ he has been raised with 3 toddlers and a baby. I was just sitting out back with him sitting on my lap next to my newborn. I guess I kept telling myself he was a pullet because he was so nice and I didn't want to see the truth 😅

Good thing to look at is when there is copper leakage in their wing feathers like that then its usually male.

Definitely a rooster. And he isn’t ugly. He is very pretty.
