Uhh... Welsummers? Easter eggers? Prairie bluebell? 😬🐄 WTH are they?

Welsummer #3 is the closest you have to a Welsummer pullet
Welsummer #2 doesn't look like a Welsummer and is possibly a cockerel
Welsummer #1 isn't a Welsummer, possibly a cream legbar cross
Welsummer # 4 has a pea comb so a type of "easter egger"

Rural king might not have had any chicks labeled "easter eggers" but all those fancy crosses, "prairie bluebell eggers" included are technically all easter eggers

You have some very beautiful chicks! Most of them look like E.E. to me. They all look like they're a mixed breed. Leg color isn't indicative of breed when it comes to E.E.s. I've hatched out chicks from eggs that I absolutely know are Americuanas and they have come out with different color legs, even bright orange!

Yes, Easter Eggers can come out with any leg color. Ameraucanas should only come out with slate legs. They will never have bright orange legs. Perhaps you could wind up with some carrying a hidden recessive gene for yellow skin but that should be culled for and shouldn't ever result in pure yellow legs, only willow. There would be no chance two standard bred Ameraucanas with proper legs would throw unmelanized yellow legs. I would argue that these out of standard birds with willow legs be called Easter Eggers rather than Ameraucanas. :)

Yes, I agree. The one with the yellow legs is quite the mutt. She's got Americuana and Silkie. Her momma was an E.E./silkie mix. The roo on the other hand is either an E.E., a RiR mix or a Maran mix. I've got no clue where her leg color came from though. The E.E. has beautiful slate legs and the other 2 are the regular cream/white color.
