Uhhh, problems?

I candled the two fertile eggs again and one embryo was almost filling up the egg, and the other is not even close to filling it up.The tiny embryo's father is a bantam.Is this why it's so small?And yes both embryos are alive!They are on day 12.

How big is the egg you suspect has a bantam chick in it? If it is a small egg you may be right. If the egg is as large as the other egg - then you may have a chick that isn't developing

They're both big eggs, but the embryo isn't exactly tiny, but smaller than the other one.and yes the smaller embryo's egg is a little bit smaller than the other light sussex egg.

When in doubt, leave it be. As Drumstick Diva questioned, if the eggs were different sizes, that might explain the difference in development. But since they are the same size, yes there could be a problem or a slow grower. As long as the egg is not cracked, I would leave it full term. You might want to mark that egg with a pencil so you know which egg this is, for future reference. There is always great possibility it will catch up.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the hatch. You might want to try posing pictures on the Incubating and Hatching Eggs forum for ideas if you can, https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-hatching-eggs X3 I would just leave them alone if nothing else is going on, sometimes they do develop at different rates, or you could possibly have warm/cold spots in your incubator.
