Confirmed case in Lincolnshire? Does this mean we need to be even more careful? I'm scared of leaving mine outside even though their pen is covered x

Mine are staying out in their covered run, it's all you can do.

:hugs You can only do your best GG, a garage would be a good idea though as Rascal has said.

Sheffield. I'm so stressed out about it! I'm willing to ruin house carpets if it means them being safe but the husband isn't so keen! He reckons the garage! And on top of this, one of them has got what I think is Bumblefoot on both feet

Ok im a bit calmer now its been pointed out to me firstly it only seems to have affected turkeys at mo and secondly thus outbreak in UK is on coastline and they have a 10km observation going on I live in Rotherham south Yorkshire so until it comes closer I shall continue with just what im doing

Hi

Still feeling calm?

I have ploughed through so many different sites in order to make the best decisions I can and there is so much conflicting advice. I have done what I can and am trying to be pragmatic about it. Just keeping water and food covered and encouraging the girls to be under cover as much as possible by throwing treats etc.

Have only been keeping chickens since May so it's a big learning curve.

Good luck

Hi

Here is a link that may help you.  Do you have a chicken friendly vet?  I'd be tempted to take it.

Hi, I've read sooooo much on Bumblefoot it's ridiculous. She's a duck so she's off to Bakewell vets first thing on Monday (there are lots of local ducks around there so hopefully they're used to duck customers!)
I could really do with some of those protective shoes but they're all made and sold in the US and shipping costs are unreal!

Ooops sorry. Just looked closely at the pic of your lovely ducks ha ha.

Am sure they will sort her out. I am lucky to have a vet who keeps chickens about 5 mins from my house.

Why not put carrier bags on your shoes and just chuck them when you've finished? I just use a pair of garden shoes from Wilko-£6 I think they were. Just pop them in washing machine now and again. They do the job and can easily be dipped in disinfectant.
