UK Member Please Say HI

Ok with that egg with the bruising I asked on a thread what it was and it turned out to be a malpo! I took that part of the shell of and tried to find the beak I couldn't find it so I popped its head out. Well, I wasn't expecting it to have no eyes and a underbite!! Luckily it has died overnight but it was the weirdest thing I've ever seen!!

Hope everyone is well? I've been bad and not keeping up in here of late

Welcome! Have you started with your quail yet?

Welcome! Do you keep chickens or any other poultry?

No just chickens. Brand new to it all. I have 4 chickens which I have had got 3weeks today

Your addicted now! Once you start doing quick turn arounds with the incubator your fate is sealed ;)

Hi Nick :frow

Great intro there and that's a fab flock of birds you keep there. What colour polish do you keep? I have mainly polish and find them super friendly little birds to keep. A bit more work with their crest issues but well worth it.
I hope it all works out for you and your wife with the breeding and showing in the future :)

Oh goodness what a shock for you when you opened it up :( Sorry to hear it passed but that was the best thing for it.
How are the others doing?

Hi, I am brand new to keeping birds, I have 4 chickens. I only get on here at weekends so sorry if response seems slow ☺️

Wow that's great restraint only getting on here at weekends, I'm an addict and can't stay off!

Is it all going ok with your new birds?

@Yorkshire Coop hows the Geese doing and what's your plans for them?
Fancy them myself but imagine there real messy.

The Pheasants you hatched, I don't suppose there's any white ones, I'm after about a dozen. :fl

I didn't keep the goslings :( I hatched them for a farmer friend from his adults eggs. They all went back to the farm once I had got them eating, drinking and they had recovered from hatch. As you say they are super messy and no way could I keep them here!
The last 5 that I hatched I have not seen since I took them to the farm but the first 2 grew super fast.
A few days old ~

I'm afraid not on the pheasant, no white and only 6 hatched. We moved them into a pen yesterday at the farm where my other half shoots.
