UK Member Please Say HI

hello @MagnusT - welcome to the UK thread :frow
what birds have you got?

2 Roos, both almost 8 weeks old - one looks like some sort of light sussex/delaware cross, and the other a marans mix, maybe.

4 unsexed at almost 5 weeks old - they are a mixed bunch and no idea what they could be, except maybe the 3 black ones are some sort of marans mix.

The above 6 we hatched!

6 hens sexed by wing at 1 week old (by the breeder, not us) - 2 bluebells, 2 black tails, 2 black marans.

that's quite a mix - I'm guessing the roos are your avatar...?
are they all in together, or are you keeping the boys apart? You may need to (for the sake of the young pullets) when their hormones get going, unless you've got older hens to teach them how to behave.

The boys are being rehomed because a neighbour says they don't want us to have them (we hatched them ourselves hoping they'd be hens)

it's not been so warm here as in other parts of the country (I'm pleased to say); it did hit over 30 on Weds, but didn't last, thankfully. Feeling distinctly autumnal now. It's been a really weird year weather wise - and in lots of other ways too of course! How's it been in Yorkshire?

Ooh it’s been 30 Monday - Thursday or near enough at 29. As I work outside now it’s been way too hot for me and especially with the humidity. Well sweaty & dusty by the end of the day!

I think the weather has been weird all year!
