Cor, I'm feeling a little lonely amongst all you Americans (friendly bunch that you are) - is there anyone from UK around here?

I'm in the Midlands, just south of Birmingham, UK. It's a nice spot - fairly rural but in easy reach of Birmingham, London and Manchester, which I need to pay the bills. Not many keep backyard chickens round here - so I feel I'm blazing the way!
