Ultimate Chicken Coop from Hampel...worth the $$??

I like the everything plastic idea, for easy cleaning. The multi access points appeal to me too. With the run and stand, it will run a little over $1000. I don’t want to spend that kind of money if it’s not going to live up to its hype though.

Thoughts?? Opinions?? Suggested alternatives?

Do you have dimensions? Looks pretty small. If your budget is$1,000 you might do better. The plastic and cleaning is probably not that big a deal. Assuming building yourself is not happening, you might find some better value in a garden shed or perhaps a fed store might have a small medium wooden coop. I saw one recently looked nice. It was maybe 4x6. Nice ventilation. It was less than $1000. I will look for a picture. I know I took one. I was thinking you could place something like that inside a covered dog run and 4 full size hens would be reasonably accommodated.

Good luck.

Both the top of the coop and run lift off, and the coop and run can snap apart for access underneath.
I’m planning on housing 4 hens. Two are bantams though.

I don’t love how small the run is, so I’ll probably just purchase the coop so I can place it in a larger run. There’s no way my girls would be happy in that small space for long!

Yeah if my math is right, that is absolute maximum of 4 full size hens, but I wouldn't try more than 3 myself. You'd probably want to make a varmint proof skirt for it too. That said, if it's at all sturdy it looks like it's easily cleanable. Pretty costly though.

You know what's even easier to clean? Something you can walk into. :) And you've already recognized the run is too small, so you'll have to spend more to add a proper run, if free ranging isn't for you.

I do admit it looks nifty and it's not nearly as tiny as I thought but it's still a bit costly for the space you're getting.
