Rather than toot the horn of UltraKibble, I'm more inclined to talk about amino acid balances as this is a major sticking point for many people rearing animals of all sorts. All Protein is not Equal

We often read that turkeys require X % of protein, lay hens X % of protein and gamebirds X % of protein- waterfowl X % of protein- .

It's not just the % of protein that's involved in their dietary requirements. It's which amino acids ( see hyperlink above) at what formulations are included in the various formulations for different species? There is a bottom line general rule blanket that covers most species and if you fall within it that ration is going to be at least marginally nutritious for a wide range of species. But we've all experienced problems with deficiencies in certain compounds like biotin or riboflavin and etc. Sometimes this happens when a feed company makes an honest mistake and sometimes we just underestimate the nutritional requirements of a species. Just last year a buddy of mine lost a pair of beautiful Chinese gosling -healthy one day, floppy the next and dead shortly after. It was heartbreaking. They were deficient in specific nutrients that the specific brand of turkey starter they were on just didn't meet. The feed was fine for them until they reached a certain age and then just fizzled out. Muscovy ducks and even Roman tufted geese did not experience these issues. It may have been genetic but it certainly was nutritional in origin.

When we feed a species that can naturally subsist on vegetable protein to the exclusion of all animal protein the amino acids and other nutrients included in the feed formulation will balance out to meet specific criteria. But say- guineapigs and rabbits are awfully similar and for the longest period of time there was no such thing as guineapig food- we just fed rabbit pellets with a few tweaks here and there. Today there are guineapig pellets

( and people told me it couldn't be done and if it were done no one would buy them much less- tons to Japan and Canada even Peru and Argentina...) that are lower in specific amino acids, higher in certain vitamins and include a wider array of fatty acids and minerals rabbits just don't require.

Reopening, after considerable editing to remove fighting, flaming, and bringing drama from other forums.

Let's please stay on topic.

I gotta make a feed run today i am going to ask the managerof TS one more time to look into getting this for me to trySomeone above mentioned they got it in a texas TS so i am gonna look that up and take the location of the store mabe she can call them and find where to order it.

Zazoose, it's the tractor supply in Bulverde, Texas, 830 438 4744. The manager, John finally found and ordered it for me. Don't take no for an answer. All stores have access to it.

Bandbaustin, you're the first I've heard actually found it on the shelf. Keep in mind when ordering the 15 lb bag comes out more reasonable price wise.
