No, the garden isn't fenced, but they haven't ventured to that side of the property yet. So far, they mostly like the pasture field.
Here are some more birds from my flock.
These three hens, who aren't named yet, I hatched myself from eggs sent to me by halo back in Januaray. These are BBS/Barred Rock Welsummer crosses. I had hatched a total of I do believe 7, but I only kept my favorite 3 girls. There was only one roo in the whole hatch!
My trio of Black Tailed Buff Japanese
This is Brownie, my sons' Mutt Hen hatched out during a science project last October. She was the only successful hatchling from that science project.
Two Gold Laced Bantam Cochin Pullets (belong to my Husband) They are about 3 months old.
My only Black Copper Marans chick, hatched from bargain's eggs. I had 2 hatch, but the second chick wasn't that strong from the beginning and expired within a few days. I'm hoping this one is a pullet, but suspect it's a cockerel!
Kellogg, my Welsummer roo
And this is a Speckled Sussex chick, hatched from bargain's eggs. I had recieved a shipment of BCM's and some SS eggs, and this is the only chick to hatch from the 3 Sussex eggs she had sent me. (The other eggs had all developed, pipped, and didn't hatch.) For once, hoping for a cockerel, but suspect it's a pullet
