Hey there fellow New Englanders! When I heard snow storm thought it was gonna amount to nothing like the majority of the snow storms here..but it’s already past my knee high muck boots and still falling lol.

We don’t quite have what you do in the east today. About 3 weeks ago we got 3’ in 24 hours. It was wet heavy snow. I let the ducks out briefly and we forget that their little feet are like snowshoes!

My husband eventually snowplowed some paths around the duck house and in the yard, so myself and the ducks could get around a bit.

Shoveling for them is really the best option. I ended up building a roof over my run because I got tired of shoveling the snow out of it after every major snowstorm.

I hadn’t thought about an 18-25” snow storm all at once... i dont want my ducks to get hurt, i am not sure they are bright enough to stay inside. I figure after it settles some they can stay on top ok, but currently it’s pretty fluffy. Any advice? storm

I love snow, this storm caught me with my pants down though . Poor ducks stayed inside today, 44” total. Between plowing, emergency calls to the fire department, and an emergency call at work, I decided a day in the coop would be fine for them. I just went out, put fresh bedding in and brought peas and water to them. They did not seem inclined to venture down the ramp after dark. Tomorrow is still more cleanup. They will not have their usual large run,, that i assure you
