I just realized my week-old JG chick as a tiny black scab under it's vent. The chick is very active, and one of the biggest of the groups. He ( I think so from feather sexing) looks very healthy and eats and drinks fine.

is that a problem? will it fall off soon?

If it's an umbilical cord then it should fall off in a few days. :)

I would say umbilical cord, dried poop should be closer to the vent.
