Recently, about a week ago, I gave my chicken away. Sadly we are moving to a place where we cannot support chickens or even have them. But, being me, I cannot bear thinking that I will not have chickens ever again. So of course, I made a plan for the future when we have more land for chickens.
But, the first problem was where to get the chickens in the first place. I researched and decided on my choice of RIRs, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Speckled Sussexs, and Black-Sex Links for my first batch (oh no, I would have to get more later
). I was looking at hatcheries (CackleHatchery, MeyerHatchery, McMurryHatchery), and they seemed pretty promising and had good reviews. But then I started seeing around BYC that you shouldn't get them from hatcheries and rather get your desired chickens from breeders. And I'm not very sure on the whole... breeder situation. Can you guys tell me about it? I want to make sure I will make the right decision of where I'm getting my chickens from. Th
