Un-medicated feed question

i fed my first batch of chicks 1 small 5 pound bag of the medicated feed but then when i went back to the feed store i just bought a 50 pound bag of chick starter that was unmedicated and the 50 pound bag was only 5 bucks more then that 5 pound bag of the medicated stuff was my next batch of chicks that i just hatched out 2 weeks old now have been getting the unmedicated feed and are doing great im thinking for the price differance im going to just use the unmedicated stuff from now on i was just wondering how long i can store the chick starter feed for because the was the prices keep going up id like to stock up on the stuff ive got a extra room inside my house so it would stay dry and temp controled im wanting to beable to put up as much as i can

I feed unmedicated feed and havent had a problem. Keep your pens and feeders/waters very very clean.
I also feed my dogs RAW and would prefer that my human and dog family avoid unnecessary antibiotics. As a doctor, I've already experienced my own highly resistant, life threatening infection. Twice. That was twice too many for me.
