Yep- no problem - if it's still there tomorrow- just take a sharp little pair of scissors and snip it if it hasn't broken free. (assuming of course that the abdomen is closed and everything else is normal- I add that bit for anyone who may run across this thread with the same question in the future). I keep a little tiny pair of curved scissors for just this reason-- the sharp tip points towards me- not the chick. Hopefully it just comes off- but sometimes things dry up and it hardens up kinda like rawhide, then it's more of a liability for the chick- because if it does get snagged on something, it's no longer wet and pliable and easy to snap.
I snipped it off this morning. It was very dry. Thank you so much for all your help! I greatly appreciate it!
