Unbalanced/injured chicken

hello. I have a chick about 3 months old. My small dog tried to play with her earlier today, and in doing so hurt her somehow. She has a tiny puncture wound on her back, but no other visible injury. However... she can not stand up without tipping side to side. She is extremely unbalanced. We have investigated her legs, wings etc. everything feels in place and not broken. She is eating, drinking, pooping and is in a great mood. We have her away from the flock just to be safe, we don't want anyone picking on her. Anyone have suggestions on how I can help our sweet girl?

At first offer her some fluids with electrolytes, and a little choppd egg. Keep her in a dog crate and she can be with the others in their coop or run. Clean the wound with saline, and som plain neosporin ointment. Look for any spots where the skin feels puffy like a balloon. Assist her drinking fluids.

An injury from a dog can cause nerve damage and internal crushing injuries. Since she does have a puncture, she was most likely squeezed pretty hard.
Cleanse the wound with saline, betadine or soapy water - trim any fluff or feathers around the wound to help keep it clean and so you can monitor it for infection. Apply Vetericyn or triple antibiotic ointment to the wound.

Since the attack was today - give her some time to see if her leg function improves. You can try placing her in a sling for a few hours each day (monitored) to get her upright and let her exercise/move her legs without falling over. There are a lot of sling ideas - just google "chicken sling" and look at the images.

Provide her with poultry vitamins for a couple of days and see that she is drinking and eating her chick starter well.
I hope she recovers soon, keep us posted.
