i’m not throwing it out.

if i have to write formally, i use capital letters when necessary. i did so when i wrote my thesis and dissertation, i do so when i write leases and proposals at work, but i don't see a point when i’m texting or posting on a forum.

if that’s what you took from my post, you missed the point.

I'm pretty sure 99% of the people here are writing informally.

I don't really see why you feel the need to tell people how to Write and yet won't follow a basic rule yourself. If people want to use irregardless instead of regardless, it's no different than using i instead of I.

people love to write articles on here. these are just some helpful tips for anyone who wants to write a little better.

there are also a ton of young posters on here. grammar in school is passable at best.

They aren't here for grammar lessons. However, the original post could have been a great article with proper capitalization.

Yes, that's what everyone is taking away. You're telling people how to Write and yet won't follow a basic rule yourself just because you don't like it. I don't like commas, but I still attempt to use them at least
