Hey!!!! Do you all know what that thing the boy is building is?! It's a broody house. You set the hen in there and slide food and water in pie pans under the bottom slot. I saw it in a book from 1915 or so. I guess that answers the question as to Uncle Sam allowing roosters or not!

yes, though i think you are still slightly off on that figure!

you also need to take into account the time when your chickens hit their 1.5 yr mark and slow down the production of eggs for some time! so you need your replacement layers....with that taken into account i'd say you need 32!
