Under Deck Coop

What a great utilization of space! You did a good job, and I'm sure your girls love it. I thought of making a second coop under our deck too. The girls seem to congrgate there while free ranging.

Also, their names are hilarious! I was a bit thrown back when you said Alfred laid an egg! You should hang a sign on the coop, letting everyone know it's the Bat Cave!

After mulling plans over for weeks now and having 6 chicks in the house feathering out I think I will use the 5 ft x 5 ft x 5ft area under my deck to flesh out a coop as well. So many structural parts are already in place so I can attach a wall on one side, the backside is a brick wall already, the two open walls include one facing south where a screen window would be nice for ventilation and winter sun and the front opening I can turn into the entrance with a fold down ramp and maybe a couple of nest boxes opening on either side. I am SO glad to see someone else trying out an under-deck coop. Please post more photos when you can and I will add some when I get underway.
