One or two of my hens (orpingtons) have always been thin and boney looking. They have always had Purina chick starter/grower and then Layena Omega plus limited free ranging. Should I supplement with something else?

I would start with how much feeder space do you have? Purina feed should not cause the birds to be "thin and bony looking." Because these hens are smaller, they may not be able to fight their way into the feeder if the other hens are around. If feeder space is limited, then this can become a big problem and may be a big reason why these hens don't seem to grow. Is there enough room for all of the birds to eat at the same time? Figure approximately 6" of feeder space per laying hen.

You may want to consider removing the two hens from the group and quarantining them. This will allow them to eat without worrying about being bullied. Once they have built up some body mass, you can return them to the main flock.

Age is also a factor, so are genetics. If you have poor genetics on board it won't matter what you feed them and how you baby them, they won't gain. I've seen it in many species.
