Underfed or just still growing?

Different breeds will be different, every individual bird is going to have different genetics. Comparing a orpington and a game bird for example, they are going to be very different but still both healthy. My EE's tend to be thinner and less 'breasty' than my barred rocks and wyandottes. If they are too thin, then adding feeders is a good idea, every group of birds is different, what works for one group may not work for another. Getting them checked for parasites is also a good idea, that could be a cause of weight loss, or not gaining. If you don't have a vet that will do a fecal test for you, there are mail in options.

I think she is finally putting on weight!
:celebrate She hoped up on my chair, and while I was petting her, I noticed that her breast bone had some meat on each side! I'm so happy! :wee

Will worms show in poop?
Worms will not always show in droppings. The fecal test looks for the eggs, which are microscopic. Most worms live their entire lifecycle inside the bird and you never see them. Occasionally if a bird is carrying a heavy load you may see roundworms or tapeworm segments, but often you will not.
I'm glad she seems to be gaining weight. It might be a good idea to weigh her regularly, to track her and make sure it continues. An inexpensive digital kitchen scale works well. Much more accurate than eyeballing them or just relying on the breast bone, especially if it's one that you are concerned about.

Great question. I have two Jersey Giant Pullets recovering from injuries. They get along but one is dominant. Marsala will eat and drink her fill before Anna can approach. Marsala will walk away then Anna eats with no interruption. They seem to spend equal time at the bowl yet Marsala weighs near twice as much as Anna. Both are healing well , are perky and active, and other than the occasional reminder who's boss, there is no fighting. They both love to perch on me when I lay on my side. Anna, the subordinate, does aggressively enforce one Rule...SHE, perches on my ribs, close to my armpit! Anna raises Hell and pushes past Marsala if she settles in to high up...JJ
