Underground RR Quilt Block

Pics
Okay I did a mock up of the sashing idea I was planning on. I was planning on just 2 sided, it is pretty busy, what do you guys think??? I tried to pick a variety of blocks to test it out.

I've been digging through stash for fabric and I came across some kalideoscope hexies I had made to make my Gma something years ago, anyway one of them said wagon wheel to me, so I made it into my wagon wheel block, not traditional style, but I like it. The black "tread" is a wool scrap I had. Oh and I've changed my mind about the extra big center block, since my sashing is so busy I'm simplifying to one size block w/ sashing. I was getting to many ideas in my head and Tim Gunn started haunting me. lol lol lol even though he isn't dead.

Kassaundra, if it matters to you that the block is right side up or not, spin that block I sent clockwise one turn.

That was just a quick layout for the idea of how the sashing would look, I will make sure it is oriented correctly for the real deal.

Here is part of my idea for this quilt, sorry Kassaunder but DH picked the carpenters wheel too. The middle two blocks top , bottom and sides will be side by side and the star sashing will go between them and around the outside. I'm' Sorry the photo is not well done it's hard to get to my "Wall" on the sides. katsdar this is how I finished your bow-tie block I hope you like it, I didn't know that you 2 had to take over for plaidbattleaxe, Thank You both for doing this for us.
I have not got the layout right yet that always takes a bit of tweaking for me.

Nice, I like it. No worries w/ doing an extra carpenter's wheel, besides your color choice makes it look different. I like how you put the two blocks together w/o sashing in sets.
