I bit the bullet and redid the "never cowardly" block. I just loved that obnoxious yellow wool fabric by itself buy hated it in the block and quilt. Anyway way more happy w/ it now.

I was thinking you could do the gellie on linen. It should pick up the paint. Fenrosie if you try it let us know how it works on linen, I guessed lined because of the weave.

It looked like acrylic paint and that will stick to any cotton after it is dry.

Here is the redone Never cowardly block and the never cruel block. All 4 blocks are going to be made from these two fabrics, like it much better.

Hi Kat, I use fluid acrylic paint by Golden, there is a fantastic YouTube by a lady called Patti Parish - look for the one about printing on fabric.
I'm using plain white cotton, I have got pfd ( prepared for dying ) Becuse that is what I had in stock . I think linen may not work quite so well as the paint may sit on the top.
