In the middle of nowhere!!!
Yesterday I was walking out in our sheep pasture checking on everyone....Everyone was happy, jumping, eatting being them selves......

A few hours later I was talking to my mom and happened to look out the kitchen window......

Had to let her go...WE HAD A BABY LAMB IN THE FIELD!!!!!!!!

We had the sheep shearer out the end of April... He checked all the sheep for us as he sheared. Told us who he thought would have lambs and when, and which ones were in possible heat. Well out of the ewes that he though were going to have a baby the first one wasn't suppose to have a lamb until June...This ewe that had her baby he figured was only about 2 or 3 months along. Well I guess she fooled ALL of us...
I had been watching her because I noticed her utter getting larger, but was comparing it to the one that is suppose to lamb in June, so I was not prepared in any way shape or form for this baby....
Well it's a beautiful, healthy, playful little ram lamb.
As soon as I get camera working I will get pictures of him....

what breed of sheep do you have?

The moms are all a polypay base. The dad I believe was a shetland black welsh mt. cross...
He looks like he has the same markings/colorings as the mom, but more along the size of the dad....

edited for misspelled words...

Well we have had 2 more babies born......

May 31st Paris my Shetland Lincoln Cross had a little boy...We named him "Tokyo". He is doing wonderful. He has a white body with a black and white splashed face and legs....

Then yesterday....
June15th London our purebreed Shetland (all black) had a little boy....The girls wanna call him "Cat-Man-Do". Not sure if that name will stick or not....
He is all black with about 3 little white tuffs of wool on the top of his head.

Not sure if this is just us or not, but we seem to be getting lots of boys. All three Zoey(-original ewe in this post), London and Paris are all first time moms.
Zoey turned a year this last April. London and Paris both turned a year this last Feb. 3 more first time moms to go. Hopefully they will have babies. Not sure if they are breed or not...

The first 6 ewes that had babies earlier this year(Feb and March) were all exsperienced mom and we had more girls than boys born. Now the first time moms are all throwing single boys....Oh well...They are just so darn cute.....

I really need to get the camera out there and take pictures....The pictures aren't even the hard part for me...It's porting them onto the computer!!!!I know it's not hard to do, I just never get to that point..hahaha

Congratulations on the little ones.

Isn't it funny how the boy/girl streaks run? I know with the cows it's usually the ones that we really want a heifer from that have the bulls. Or when I'm overrun with calves and could use a few bulls showing up they are heifers. Oh well, I guess we take them as they come!
