Unexpected chick colors

This is my first year with the malines. I'm mostly just curious about what genes I'm working with. I'm not sure yet how this will change my breeding plans, if at all. Malines aren't an APA recognized breed, so I'm not concerned about breeding to SOP. And even if I was, the heterozygous and homozygous birds are visually the same once the feathers come in.

I got malines to cross with the buckeyes for black sexlinks. Figured I could sell the pullets and grow out the cockerels for meat. The silver malines/buckeye crosses open up the possibility of red sexlinks, which is fun.
