Unexpected color

Chicks have been hatching these last few weeks...
I have 2 TOM.. 1 Black and 1 Narri.
Out of all my hens I only have 1 royal palm hen.... figured that any white colored chicks are impossible according to the color calculator with my flock.. but I checked last night and under her was an 100% yellow chick. No dark markings anywhere and no coloring on its feet either...

How can this be?

How can this be?

As I recall, Royal Palm poults start out white (yellow) without any markings. They don't start developing any markings until later when they start getting actual feathers.

White poults are possible in any of the varieties if the tom and a hen are both carrying a recessive white gene (c). A single recessive white gene will not show white but can be passed on to the offspring and a pair of white genes (cc) will cause the poult to be a white turkey irregardless of what the other color genes are.
