Unexpected Egg :)

Hiya ya'll so i got BO brownie 6 months a go the previous owner said she had stopped laying for 6 months after her sister got killed by a fox and she was traumatised well i now had her 6 months so its been a year since she laid i wasnt expecting her to lay again just wanted to give her a good life took lots of work to get her to trust me and get along with my 9 other chickens the past few weeks she has been thriving bouncing around and yesterday she laid an egg couldnt beleive it so happy for her and wanted to share

That's awesome, she looks happy and healthy. Some of my hens are 4-5 years old and still lay a few eggs per week, since they're well-nourished and comfortable in their area with their flock.

Congrats! That is very exciting. My four year old Speckled Sussex has been on a break since last summer, when she was infected with EYP. This week though, I noticed her squatting and I’m very excited in hopes that I Will get to celebrate like you and Brownie

Thank u so much as i said not really bothered egg production wise as she is a pet more happy for her progress feels like im doing something right
