Unexpected vagrant

This has shown up in my yard, trying to join my small flock. What is it? Roo, breed? What do I do with it - pretty feral, but can be caught at dusk.

Actually, my neighbor caught it (him?) in his yard 2 nnights ago and assumed it was mine. When I said it wasn't, he let it go in a field behind his house. And this morning, it found us. If it's not a roo, I might try convincing mine to let it stay.

Me personally would let it stay ,its a chicken which is a flock bird and it knows it is safer with other chickens.

I'd really like to know what it is before I decide. Are you sure it's not a roo? Any guesses as to breed?

I believe it is a cockrell. (Hope I'm wrong)
If it is a game of some kind, it probably won't get along with your rooster. You should make a plan as to what to do if it is a male.

Because age is unknown, hard to say but if over 16 weeks that's a lady....game bird

Cant really go by build as reliably with them....saddle and hackle are female...comb being bright could he age vs gender
