Unfinished Coop

Pic's are not the best but the coop doens't appear to be in that bad of shape, I would just Get some hardware cloth to cover the gaps,and replace the really bad boards, you can make roosts from 2x4's or from limbs from the yard.
 
How exciting :) I have gaps like that in my coop, I call it ventilation :) I don't know about cutting holes into it to get the eggs. In my opinion, holes to get eggs are just another place for predators to get in.

How cold does it get where you live? If it gets cold for a long stretch you might want power to your coop. Cold, below 32° F for a month or more.

To answer your question, we live on the Iowa Minnesota border and are getting freezing rain and sleet this morning. I am lucky I don't have chicks yet!!
