Unfriendly hen

Well looky here... She bowed down and let me pet her and then I was able to pick her up. She wasn’t super thrilled about being picked up but I couldn’t resist and it’s a good start! I do look forward to her getting her feathers back though so it doesn’t feel like holding a porcupine lol

Well, that's one reason she doesn't want to be touched!!
Those pin feathers are 'uncomfortable' and it hurts them to be touched,
leave her be until she's done growing in feathers.

On no! Thanks! I didn’t realize that! This is the first time I’ve really tried to touch her because I didn’t want to scare her more than she already was and also her skin was in horrible shape initially. I will continue the hands off approach until her feathers come in!
