I have four hybrids, I bought them as point of lay and have had them for just over a year. They have only been laying aprox. 2 eggs a day between them recently. When I let them out yesterday morning I found something (pics. below) on the floor at the back near where they tend to sleep. One of them acted a bit moody for a while after I had let them out but they all seem healthy now. What is it, why has it happened, should I stop eating the other eggs and what should I do about it?

Look up the weird egg thread, there are a couple of ones that look like that, I wouldn't be concerned, just a mistake in the system. Also, them laying less could be from them being hybreds, hybreds usually lay really well the first year, and then slow down. fast. The average group will give you three eggs from four hens, if you were getting four eggs a day for the first year, this would explain their loss of egg production.
