Dear Friends,
I ordered a new very small flock of mixed ducklings from Metzer Farms. They were shipped out on Monday, as promised. They went via USPS Priority, which I thought meant it would be reliable. IT IS NOT RELIABLE.
I have talked to two different mail stations, and both of them pretty much told me to go jump in a lake. They were unhelpful, irritable, and didn't do me a bit of good at all! Somehow, these idiots think it means nothing to sit at home next to the phone ALL DAY, waiting for their call. My last four orders all arrived by 9am at my usual station. I am now being told that they might arrive at any of several stations, even though I specified my zip code. The man said, "We don't care nuthin about what you specified. They will arrive some time today, and that is all I can tell you. Wait for the call. And then he hung up on me.
Priority Service--never again!!!!!!
I am really sick about this.

Yikes!! That sucks! I’d be fed up about it too! I’ve only received birds in the male once, and they were suppose to come midday, but ended up coming at like 3 am. A little irritating.

I ordered some birds via a feed store (also relying on USPS this year) -- it was the same story. They were shipped Monday, scheduled to arrive Wednesday. The box didn't turn up until Friday. Thankfully all made it and were thriving.

I wonder if we could bill them for the two days our life goes on hold... And yet USPS wonders why they are losing market share... :barnie:he:th

Omg nothing like that happened to me
That's terrible
Metzer sent mine the next day they were here asap
They were just peeping away at the post office
I'm so sorry that happened to you
One of the member on here has been telling me about waterfowl and poultry trades that happen in areas if the mail is a terrible option :(

That is awful @gilbert2 I hope you hear today, I told my mail carrier when my chicks were coming and asked him to let them know at the office so they would call me, they shipped on Monday afternoon and were here Wednesday Morning. I would have been sick if treated like you are. Find out who to report this too.

Thanks, Miss Lydia. Unfortunately, the ducklings did NOT ARRIVE at all today. :( I spent the entire day trying to locate them. Here is what happened: The package made it from Metzer in Gonzales, CA as far as Denver. And there they stayed. Arriving in Denver at 5:45 a.m., they somehow did not get onto the final truck leaving from Denver, so they will spend the night there. Hopefully, I will get the parcel early tomorrow morning.
I had heated discussions with many postal representatives, and assured them that if I were not practicing rigorous self-control, I would be breaking something and getting myself arrested. They didn't care.
OK, it is only one little box with six little babies in it. But these mean SO MUCH to me! I am 6'2" an almost 250 pounds--a big guy. Does this mean I am a sissy? Actually, I hope it just means that I am a caring person, and feel love for these little creatures. And something close to hatred for the idiots at the USPS who absolutely do NOT care about their customers!
To all you duck loving brothers and sisters, I thank you so much for letting me vent here. I have nowhere else to go. I am now praying for tomorrow to be a better day.

Hi, Miss L. Yes, I FINALLY picked up the box this morning at 5:30 a.m. Sadly, when I got home and opened it up, two of the six babies were dead, and one more was in such bad shape, she couldn't even open her eyes all the way, or lift her head. I gave her some water with a syringe, but it didn't help. I watched her die an hour later. Maybe I am too emotional a person, but this hurt so much, it actually made me cry. Innocent little babies, killed by idiots at the Post Office, who care about nothing.
Of course Metzer Farms is going to send me replacements for free next week, but it will be the same geniuses at the Post Office, who scare me. Hopefully I made so much trouble for them, they might just want to keep me quiet, and make a better delivery.
It was a "comedy of errors" on their part, and the people who did this do not even rank as humans in my book. Apes, maybe.
Let's hope for the best, next week!

How sad you lost 3 so sorry and so much could have been avoided.:(
how are the other 3 doing?

I'd talk with your carrier tell him/her the day they are to arrive and to please call you right away. I actually gave him a piece of paper with it all written down.
