Big Day! My chicks arrived today! Yip yipp yippie!

There's 5 little gals, and they're all in great shape. They're running around the brooder and konking out, then running. They seem happy. They're cute as sugar coated buttons.

My question is this: When I poke their little heads out they'll drink, and for a few minutes after, they'll do it themselves and drink from the troth, but then it's like they forget about it.

On the troth opposite, I put their beaks in the chick start, but they aren't eating it.

I do have two small pieces of cardboard with some pro-gel on each and chick start over that. They scratch in it and eat the start there. And they not eating/drinking because they're hydrated by the pro-gel? Or do they really keep forgeting?

As I'm sure you know, in the universal box brooder they are running over wire, so you can't just throw the feed about, so I'm not sure what to do?

How long should I keep reintroducing them to feed and water?

Thanks a lot!!!
