Nice looking eggs!

I would hate to be DQd!

I did not have enough time to get there today. I will drop them off tomorrow and only 6 will go.

The Campus is an odd place and Google does not really understand it. I have better instructions from Google maps now. I might head over they this after noon or on my way home.

I would think they might just eat the other 6 :p

They probably just said 2-6 in case they get a lot of eggs cause if everyone sent in a dozen then that would be a lot of eggs to test... and probably to not scew up the results too much if one person only sends like two and someone else sends a dozen then that's a lot more chickens from one area

The limit was likely to keep shipping costs down. Most people will ship them.

The Davis campus is one of two in the UC system that has room for expansion. We have a lot of construction going on here!

Ahh that makes a lot more sense! Especially since they offer to pay for shipping.

And wow they're making it bigger? What are they building?

A new lecture hall and several retro fits. One huge building is going to be demolished and replaced too. The building is Haring Hall and used to be the Vet Med Teaching Hospital before they moved out over HWY. 113. Some places on campus are too far to walk to and I have to drive.

Sacramento And UC Davis are also working on a big project in Sacramento that will be an incubator type of thing.

Besides that, it would seem that if one egg was somehow affected by smoke or ash, all eggs from that "supplier" would as well. 6 would be more than plenty to figure that out. Any requirement that the 6 come from different hens?? Plus there is the possibility of breakage so 6 would likely still give them a sample even if some broke.

Are they paying for shipping....or just providing a label so they go to the right place?
It is offered but optional:

If you would like assistance with shipping costs, please contact Anny Huang at the UCD SVM Cooperative Extension at [email protected] BEFORE shipping. We can generate a shipping label for you and email it to you to print and stick on your package.
