Unknown Bantie

she is about 2 1/2 years old. And she does look like the old English game bantams on the internet, so you may be right about that. Thanks!

Interesting... you could be right. Her eggs are on the dark side of brown, but not as dark as some pictures on the web of cukcoo marans eggs.

my BR (supposed to be a cuckoo maran) lays pretty pale eggs.

one of the slightly darker ones is hers, not very dark at all. could be your girl is just a hatchery quality Cuckoo marans. she's nice looking though.

That's a Barred Rock, not Cuckoo Marans.

Cuckoo Marans have different barring and WHITE legs, no gray or any other sooty color on them. Hatchery Barred Rocks commonly have pale legs w/gray on the front.

The bantam is SO tiny and so cute! Wow she's tiny!

I'm guessing OEGB.

Ya the barred rock originaly came from a hatchery. The bantam is about the size of a robbin. Her eggs are white and pointed on one side. They are mostly yolk.

with the little guys/gals it hard to say , if crossed with something else,, she is not dutch (no white ear lobes), I SAY OEGB AS WELL. she's a pretty bird, that'S for sure......
i say OEGB, do not see the posturing as in Nankins, sermas, not a Jap, .........

Ya she is small

Sometimes when we are doing a head count or putting the chickens away it takes awhile to find her. It's not that she hides, her size and color make her blend in very well.
