I was looking at leg color for blue orpingtons, since I'm getting some BBSs this month. Google returned both these pages of results, with clearly conflicting information. No wonder a newbie like myself can't get it right, lol.

The good think with the sexlinks is I’m pretty sure the males are barred! So if they’re not barred they’re likely pullets!

Hello everyone
I was supposed to have gotten 3 black sex link and 3 chocolate orpingtons but one of them is pure black with purplish and teal coloring to the feathers she has always been a bit bigger than all the others as well any ideas? They are about 16 weeks oldView attachment 4213925

I wonder if she’s still a sexlink just didn’t happen to get the rust feathers in around her neck Where did you get them?

Oh wow! The one with all the brown/rust is very unique looking! Don’t think she’s a black sexlink. The other one looks like a black sexlink pullet

Editing to add the saddle feathers on the brown one look kinda pointy…I’m not very good at ID’ing sex though so don’t hold me to that.
