I just go by what I see, nothing else. I can spot a birchen a mile away from partridge..

here I'll make it easy for you.

can you spot the difference?( I made it using my bad paint skills..

)

the one on the Left is Partridge, the one on the Right was a Partridge but I melanized his wing bay, and now is a Gold Birchen.

that is a good assessment too..

here is what a "Rustiness" looks on blues, it can also mimic Birchen(E^R) but the Gold leakage is not complete..

Here's a few more photos... Do you think it's a roo? and what would this coloration be in the show world? Is it a bad thing? a rare thing... common?

(sorry bout the nasty mud lol)

X2 Was this chick hatched with the Partridge markings?? I have one just like it, solid dark blue, with gold leakage.

that Idea was perviously conceived also.

he could also be a "Brassy Blue" silkie by chance? Brassy being based on e+ plus melanizers. this ideas however is highly unlikely...

the first boy makes me think of gold based Birchen, but the second pics he posted makes me think of gold leakage, he could be a Birchen based Blue with melanizers also..

Not sure, I just got him a couple weeks ago. It has appeared tho that since we've gotten him, his golden coloring has increased and spread.

I'm seeing that here with some of the solids that hatched from paint. Not a partridge because of the way they're marked. I've got another with silver leakage that is doing the same thing but not a gray. The added color is showing up almost every where on the birds. Any chance this bird is out of a paint breeding?
