Unknown deaths

I have a small flock of 9 birds. I have had no non predator deaths in three years but have just lost (2) year and a half old hens and I dont know the cause. These two birds were the low birds in the po so it took a while to notice the changes. They both stopped laying...I thought they were being run out of the boxes. I had found a couple eggs in the run.

They then got lethargic, their combs shriveld and their plumage paled. This lasted a while so I thought they were maybe molting. I then tried seven dusting and worming...nothing changed. Another month went by and hey both died within days of each other. My other birds are fine and haVe been fine throughout this time that lasted about three months. Any insights would be appreciated. If it helps the birds were a Hamburg and a Cubalaya from Ideal.

That could be your problem. Wazine only kills round worms and there are many types of worms chickens can get. It's possible they had a heavy load of parasites not affected by the Wazine.

I would deworm everyone else with Valbazen and repeat in 10 days. You may want to keep them on a regular schedule, maybe twice a year, just depends on where you live and your climate.
