Okay well there's this one egg I have from my White Crested duck & I have been incubating it for about 20+ days now. But the problem is I don't have a date for when it was set so now it looks like this:

That's the air sack (I believe), & that dark figure inside the egg sack makes A LOT of movement. I am guessing that is the beak, maybe? But next to it is like this.. yellow thing which I also think is maybe the yolk or something.
The next picture displays it a little better:

My other worry is that the air sack is not...circle-ish? It is like two circles that combine with two points.
Is that a problem or is it normal?
The dark area that is underneath the beak looking thing is where the duck is because you can't see anything in there.
So how far along do YOU think it is?
My August 26th eggs are going to hatch the 22nd. So I'm not sure how far ahead this one is, so maybe some time this coming week.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Miss Lydia. I will try not to panic :) LOL
I woke up this morning and it's still chirping and making movements when it hears me, but when it's in the incubator, it doesn't like.. move. It seems like it is making little pecks but nothing big enough to knock through.
And then this appeared on the egg later yesterday :
(The egg encircled by red)

What could this be? I searched for it but there's no straight answer.
Someone said it was fur, someone else said it was blood stuck to the side, & then someone else said it was the first layer of the shell that was pecked off.
Thanks.

I will only answer in hopes someone else who hatches by bator will help, I will say this every time you open the lid you are letting out precious humidity which is very important in keeping your ducklings from getting shrink wrapped, so don't open the lid unless emergency. They rest alot too, they will work on hatching then sleep so when you don't hear anything thats whats happening.

Stop opening the bator. The first picture is the duckling internally pipping working at hatching. It can take 3 days from start to finish for a duckling to hatch.

The dark spot is most likely a bad egg. Nothing you did right or wrong or could have done to prevent the late in incubation death. It is best to remove that egg before it oozes or worst explodes and compromises the other eggs.

I am kinda confused, the baby inside that egg with the dark spot is still chirping and pipping at the egg but you say it's most likely a bad egg.
I've also done more research to find out that the black spot seems to be an internal pipping and now it will work on the external likely today or early tomorrow.
I will stop opening the bator also, I have only opened it twice in the last two days just to make sure it was still alive.
Now I shall wait.

I was making comments based on the info you gave. You did not mention it was the same egg. It's not fur, ducks don't have fur. If its the egg you showed in image 1 it could be just staining from trying to pip. Opening the bator releases the humidity which is crucial for a duck to hatch properly. If you opened it while they are internally pipping it can lead to shrink wrapping. When in lockdown it means just that. Lockdown, don't open raise humidity so they can hatch.

Probably should of been more clear, my bad.

Well hopefully it won't get shrink wrapped, I have left it alone and I will keep it left alone. I have the ALIVE CHIRPING EGG along with my other eggs but I need to turn those eggs (unless otherwise adviced not to), so should I turn the other eggs or just leave them until the baby hatches?
I will keep a good eye on the egg for the next 24-36 hours.
I checked it a few mintues ago, (without opening it) and the baby did this big movement and the egg moved then after, it started to chirp a lot.
I'm glad that the spot is not some death spot, thanks !

ALSO: If it does come out to be shrink wrapped, is there any way to fix it now or do I just wait? And is there anything I should be prepared to do
when it hatches?
