Hey guys!

I was wandering if anyone who knows anything about this to please offer some sort of information. I am kinda worried about it because my chicken isn't eating much and she was moving very slowly. If you know anything about this then please help.

My chicken walked into the coop about to lay an egg, then when she left, my mother spotted this unusual thing in her spot on the hay where she was sitting. We washed it then bagged it in case it was infected. If feels quite hard but not like bone, it feels more like a slightly harder chicken meat. No kidding it looks and feels like chicken meat. Before she "layed" it she stood in the same spot on the grass for almost 30 minutes doing nothing. She was moving very slowly and just really procrastinated. I'm not sure what this is cause I've never seen something like this before. Ohh yeah, and she didn't end up laying an egg. None of my chickens are laying at the moment, its winter over where I live.

So if any has an ideas on what this is, please speak up. Thankyou for everything! Thankyou so much!!!

Looks like it might be what they call a lash or lash egg, Sometimes they come with an egg, sometimes they are just "laid" alone. They seem to think it is part of the lining of the hens reproductive system, often seems to happen with hens that are internal laying also. Old BYC thread on them and some links with other pics.
