I havn't written much since "generations of love" but I'm gonna start again.

Prelogue

Cosby wagged her tail happily as she watched the landscape roll by. Her owner sat quietly in the drivers seat. Panting and sticking her face out the window, it seemed like a special day. The Bouncy pup howled to the wind and barked at the cars driving by. Her owner pat her head then retracted his arm tensely trying not to look at the oblivious pup.

They came upon a small brick building, inside you could hear dogs bark. Suddenly cosby was not so happy. The dogs let out howls of fear and cries of lonelyness. Cosby felt her muscles tense as the car slowed down. it came to a stop right in front of the building. Her owner looked at her sadly, then wiped away the tears and got out of the car. He came to cosby's side reaching for the handle. Cosby's tailed tucked as the door opened. her owner lifted her out and carried her to the door. Lots of men in green uniforms came out smiling a devious smile. cosby tried to hide between her owners legs but her owner pushed her out.

"This is cosby, she is an irish wolfhound mix" he paused " Great dog, just getting too big"

The men in the uniforms nodded and took the wiggling puppy. Cosby watched her owner walk away, never looking back. She screamed and cried trying to get his attention but only to fail. The men brought her inside and put her in a cement kennel.

Chapter 1

Cosby sat and watched dogs come and go for what seemed like forever. It was her second birthday, and she knew she didn't have much longer before she was sent to the little grey room. She saw dogs go into the room but never has she seen one come out.

She was no longer a cute little puppy, she was a big awkward dog. Her legs were long and her body was thin, her soft puppy coat was now a wirey silver mop, Her nose was now big and wet instead of cute and little. She watched kids go up and down the isles looking for a puppy, never once has she been pointed out, she could never be as tiny as a chihuahua or as soft as a maltese even though she longed to be. She couln't remember what it was like to be pet or looked at with joy. All she saw now were walls of cement and opportunities passing by. She used to try to be cute, wagging her tail and barking happily, and on the occasions that a child looked the mothers would pull them away in disgust.

She gave up hope laying in the corner waiting for the day to come where she will either be adopted, or her few days will be done. Tears rolled down from her big brown eyes as she thought about her boy who left her years ago. She remembered when they played, when shed lick him and he'd laugh, his soft hands would stroke her head as she slept on his lap. Unfortunately those days are over, its now or never she thought, jumping around and let out whimpers so the the passer-byers knew she was distraught. Sadly though her attempts failed so she settled down for a well needed nap.

reading it back it sounds like a poem!

Chapter 3

Cosby awoke to the kennel door opening. She stood up an walked towards the towering human. She gently licked his hand and rubbed her head on his side. She felt the hand extend and softly pet her head. She looked up at the figure and wagged her tail. It was a man in uniform. They put a leash on her and began to walk her down the hallway. right before they reached the grey room he turned and brought her to a bright and lively one. Threw the door sat a small man with dark hair and a grey beard he took the leash and some money never even smiling, they turned and walked out the door.

The car was cold and the seats were torn, the window was closed, and it smelled like rotten milk. Cosby sat quietly hoping to get out fast. The truck stopped and the door opened, cosby jumped out but the man got back in and drove away. All around her were woods, but she could vaguely smell a chicken baking. she followed the smell into the woods. She walked slowely afraid of the beasts she couldn't see. A snake slithered across the path in front of her. she jumped in fear coming down hard. "Snap!" a searing pain surged through her leg and up her shoulder. she breathed heavily trying to ignore the leg dangling from her lifelessly. She limped on trying to find shelter, instead she felt the first few drops of rain. she found a tree and curled up at the base to sleep for the night.
