Another unpopular opinion: Orps are way better than Cochins.

How so? I have both and I'm genuinely curious what all the fuss is about. Why are people at odds with each other over these two breeds in particular?

Isn't the whole point of white chickens the fact that they make a nicer carcass? (No offense to anyone who likes them)

Yes it is. That way if you miss feathers, they're not as noticeable as like black ones
