Unrealistic dreams??

More money than sense..that's the usual reason. Id love to have an old house....with modern plumming.
My tree is about 150-175 ft tall, I did a science project once on it once and it's estimated to be at least 250 years old. It's a butterscotch pine.
That long ago though? All i know is a dr use to live here during those times and i hate old houses this house is a crap hole everything is falling apart. I literally have a hole in the ceiling in my room.

The walls get moldy from no insulation aswell and i have to plastic my windows twice each just to keep the drafts out.

Yikes, that's awful, I'm sorry to hear that.

Really the insulation is the big problem. It's hard when you don't have the ability to remodel a place (our rental could really use some work, but it's inexpensive and we can do whatever we want with animals).
As a temporary solution, you could try hanging some tapestries (err, velvet curtains?) all over the walls. That's what people used to do before modern insulation.
Being that cold all the time, I would probably do something a little bonkers like buy some insulating board from the hardware store and pin or tape it to the walls.
In a properly insulated space, you don't need much heat to keep it warm.
