Unsure if one of our Rhode Island Reds is a rooster?

Hard to tell in that light....but I'd agree, I don't see much wattle or comb.
A better pic in white light(not shadow) would help.

Right. I'm still thinking it's a sexlink, too. Plus, the legs are too thin for a cockerel at that age.

In my experience, many production reds, including the sex-links, are more aggressive pecking beasts, and I don't get them for my mixed flock.

We separated them. The bigger chick stopped pecking at them (but would still occasionally charge and scare the littles) after I sat there and would hold her down to the ground when she’d go after them. I have a baby monitor in the cage to keep an eye on them without them knowing I am so I could see how the big chick acted without knowing she was going to get held down if she acted up. I still wasn’t comfortable because of how small they are and we separated them again. Maybe a couple supervised play dates before fully integrating them

My first set and second set were about 3 weeks different in age. I kept them separated until they were about the same size, so the younger ones could defend themselves.

Yeah, the younger ones need to be a good 4 weeks old before mixing, in my opinion. And still, wouldn't go much more than a couple weeks older. I'm going to be dealing with this after my staggered hatching this spring.

I personally think you have a tomboy pullet. I have one that was very similar to that stance and attitude when she was a baby... her comb even grew in but she never got tail feathers and now she's dropping eggs.

I've mixed chicks of a 2-3 week age range a couple times.
Once it was a disaster, another it was like nothing.
Always be ready to separate by wire.

She was just a tomboy. Haven’t gotten any eggs yet, but they’re all still a bit young.

We put the little ones in with the older ones about a week later and they were okay. Our silkie is still very tiny but stands up for herself well and nobody picks on her. She’s unbelievably friendly towards everyone and follows us around when we’re in the run.

The only one we’re a little confused on being a roo now is one of our Easter Eggers, Shelly (maybe Shelton?). She’s very pretty
