can you carefully candle the egg and take a photo?@SilverBirds I had a little question after watching a few videos. Do you think that the chick is maulpositioned from the look of the bruises? Should I add saftey holes or nah?
If the spots are on the small end of the egg, it could be malpostioned. Candle before making a safety hole. You don't want to accidentally hit a blood vessel.
Here are some candling pics. Do keep in mind I don't know how old this egg is. All I know is it is bruising the shell and ocassionally makes noises.can you carefully candle the egg and take a photo?
What noises are you hearing? Here are some candling pics. Do keep in mind I don't know how old this egg is. All I know is it is bruising the shell and ocassionally makes noises.
Definitely dont make any holes in the egg, it has too much liquid in.Here are some candling pics. Do keep in mind I don't know how old this egg is. All I know is it is bruising the shell and ocassionally makes noises.
Both yesterday and the day before there was definitely healthy veining around the air sack. But the body got closer and now its mostly around that one pocket thing. Idk what its called but one did look thick and nice. Sometimes I could see it moving, sometimes not. I don't know how far along it is though. Should I wait a few more days? A week? Hopefully it does not hatch till the incubator gets here. Or hopefully it holds out till then.Definitely dont make any holes in the egg, it has too much liquid in.
Here is a photo of my duck egg on day 18-19, now, my other egg wasnt quite so full on day 18, but still filled most of the egg. The light used wasn't the best, so they filled just a little less than you can see filled here.
Yours are potentially muscovy mixes, so I cant guess as to what day they would be on.
I'm not seeing healthy veining here, can you see healthy veins by the air cell in person, or movement from the duckling when the egg is perfectly still?
I have added a diagram, not the most accurate, but a rough guide.
The incubator was delayed, its arriving today. Do u think the egg is healthy enough to last till then? <Definitely dont make any holes in the egg, it has too much liquid in.

Hopefully, Just give the egg more time- its sometimes hard to see the veins on camera, but as long as you can see some and movement from the duckling, you should be okay. Once the incubator is here, transfer the eggs over-I dont think this egg is too close to hatch date- it has a bit to go yet in my opinionThe incubator was delayed, its arriving today.
