Unthinking people

I live in a little town on a corner with free ranging chickens. A car was speeding and jumped the curb and killed two of my three Americana's. Someone left a note to tell us what happened (they werre an on-looker) but didn't get a licsence plate.

I have other animals...my whole town knows about my home and what we do here, and they always stop by to talk about our animals etc. I just have to vent about stupid people who just think of themselves. I am heart-broken, and the three roo's aren't happy either...there is just one hen now.

. One of my EE's was hit and killed last week. It's pretty sad to find them that way but mine was definitely in the road. Did the person who left the note say whether the car aimed at your chickens on purpose

Okay -- if you're near me, I'll be GLAD to donate you some chickens!!! Seems I've become a chicken rescue.....I have TONS. Lots of nice girls, too. Probably not an EE -- partridge wyandotte? Some people just don't have a heart. I bet ya any money it was a bunch of teenaged boys. That's too bad that that happened. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Terrible news. A woman just outside of town has Muscovy ducks and I see an occasional one dead at the side of the road. If people were just a little more careful ...

I dont know if it would help but it wouldnt hurt. Sometimes people just need a gentle reminder and since we cant...

... a sign is a good option
