OK, so look at the photos. THESE ARE ALL MY BIRDS, not some stuff grabbed off the internet. new pictures with some recent hatchlings showing multiple spots. THESE ARE NOT A PROJECT, these are all purebred D'uccles, the splashes just seemed to happen-i think they come from the white hens.
I have selected 3rd generation birds that I am breeding with some selected hatchery stock. I am mixing them to mostly produce solids -like black, blue, white but some will be split for pattern and recessive colours like Lavender (AKA self blue). some leaking may happen especially in hackles, so some blacks may get red tipped feathers there, i am getting some brown reds too. **as of 4/20 i am getting golden necks out of this current mix.
I have 2 pens I am currently breeding;
1='D!', this is my best patterned birds (crispest lines, most black, minimal white feathers on head). the roosters are a porcelain with excessive foot feathering, a black mottled and a lavender -the lav is the dominant male and will probably be the father of most. the hens are mille fleur, blue mille fleur, golden neck and a lavender hen---> from this you may get black, blue, black mottled, blue mottled, lavender and ? (since I don't know the genes hiding in some of them).
2='DMIX' this pen has 2 Brown Red roosters over 2 white, 5 golden neck, 2 black mottled hens. this is the pen that is producing two kinds of 'white' chicks. one is more yellowish tint fluff and the other is white and usually develops black spots. I dont know how much these will 'splash' out since my oldest is not even a month old-see the photos.
I may shift the breeding pairs around a bit to use some roosters that are 'in reserve'. I have 22 hens so I am getting 7-15 eggs a day right now, i will ship eggs that are no more than 3 days old the day I ship. shipping is in a large priority mail box with lots of padding, and they should be to you within 3 days (weekends excluded). shipping is 12$
