Unusual egg color

My chickens usually lay brown eggs, but today she had a purple egg what could that mean?

Was it like a purple pigmented egg with spots? I’ve had similar problems with my Copper Maran hens laying those colored eggs..

Yes it was, this is the first time it has happened

In my case it was just a result of me switching from All Flock feed to Purina Lay Pellet too fast after we sold off the ducks and geese. It didn’t bother me too much because the eggs still edible, it’s just a different color. What breed of chicken? We have copper Marans, cucku Marans, Wyandotte’s and some orpingtons.

They are sex link hens, and they eat Purina flock raiser. It is only one that is doing that the other 10 have normal eggs

Heavy bloom is what turns brown eggs purple.

I had a Black Langshan who routinely laid pinkish/purplish eggs that seemed pixelated. I don't know what it was about her egg-producing system that did it, but I thought they were pretty.

It's just a change in the bloom that is on her eggs.

You're positive it's from the same bird?
Shape of egg looks a bit different.
Agrees, just a change in bloom.
The pics being taken in different light have probably exaggerated the difference.
